ABOUT US

Our policy is to re-home animals, not destroy them.

The Worcester and Mid Worcestershire Branch of the RSPCA was formed over 90 years ago and is a separate charity in its own right.

The Branch area extends from Worcester to Malvern, Redditch, Bromsgrove, Droitwich, Pershore and surrounding districts. Its main aim is to re-home animals within this area.

2009 RE-HOMING SUMMARY

2009 has been a good year for our re-homing programme.  Thanks to the help of our brilliant volunteers we have managed to re-home 157 cats, 57 dogs and 89 small animals.  We have also provided welfare treatment for a further 75 animals.

2009 was a good year, but with continued support from volunteers and donations we can make 2010 an even better year and find more homes for animals in need.

We are an independent charity and as such have to be totally self-financing

The Branch Headquarters is located in the centre of Worcester.

We also operate two charity shops, one in St John's and another in Upton upon Severn.

      Opportunities To Help

We are urgently in need of foster mums with knowledge of keeping rats and guinea pigs to look after our animals whilst we find them a new permanent home.  You will need have transport and be willing to take them to the vets, have a phone and be available for potential adopters to call and view the animals, willing to do paperwork to send to the Re-homing Co-ordinator, space for a hutch and run, ideally a digital camera but above all be willing and able to give them time, love and attention before they go to their new home.

Not able to take animals but would like to help out?  Do you have a digital camera and transport?  If yes you could help by being one of our volunteers who takes photographs of our animals to put on websites.  It's one of our best ways of enabling adopters to see our lovely bunnies, cats, dogs, rats etc. and find them a new home.  Don't believe it when they say never work with children or animals!!
